Leaf Area Index, or LAI, is a crucial measurement that researchers need in order to understand key characteristics about plant canopies. Biomass production, energy conversion and precipitation interception are just a few of many models that rely on knowing the LAI of a canopy.
In this virtual seminar, Matt Galloway will give a basic overview about what LAI is, how it’s measured and what it’s used for. He will then go into a more focused discussion about how Decagon’s AccuPAR LP-80 Ceptometer measures LAI using PAR interception, and show some typical measurement scenarios
