AccuPAR LP-80
Photosynthetically Active Radiation Sensor
As soon as you turn it on, the LP-80 begins to make real-time measurements of Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR) that you can save with the push of a button. When used with the external PAR sensor, the LP-80 makes simultaneous measurements above and below the canopy. Leaf Area Index (LAI) is calculated and displayed with each PAR measurement. Stored data can be viewed on-screen or downloaded to a computer using the interface cable.
Features:
- Intuitive 6-key menu-driven interface.
- Included external PAR sensor.
- Large memory capacity.
- Low power consumption; uses AA alkaline batteries.
- Unattended sampling mode.
Benefits:
- Ease of Use
- The LP-80 is easy to use. As soon as you turn the instrument on, you're measuring PAR in the PAR sampling mode. The LP-80 has just 4 menus: PAR/LAI sampling, unattended logging, file access, and setup. The intuitive 6-key interface allows quick navigation through the menus.
- Unattended Logging
- The unattended PAR sampling mode can make and store measurements from once a minute to once an hour.
- External PAR Sensor for Simultaneous Measurements and Calibration
- The external PAR sensor (included) will allow you to make simultaneous PAR measurements above and below the canopy. Since the external sensor only needs to be calibrated every 1-2 years, you can calibrate the LP-80's probe sensors against the external sensor.
- High Memory Capacity
- The LP-80 has about 1MB of memory, so you can store several thousand data points. View the stored data on the screen or download it to your computer for further analysis.
- Low Power Consumption
- The LP-80 is powered by four AA alkaline batteries which should last over two years.
How it Works:
The AccuPAR model LP-80 is a linear PAR ceptometer consisting of an integrated probe and microcontroller.
The probe is
86.5 cm long and contains 80 sensors that are sensitive to the PAR waveband. The microcontroller
interprets the PAR
signals coming from the probe, allowing you to read PAR. It also calculates LAI of your samples instantly
with each
PAR measurement you take, using the intercepted and available PAR and other variables.
