The data you get from the 2 systems is essentially the same. I think (but am uncertain) that the Sunscan has an external sensor that can log separately from the wand of the unit if you have a very tall canopy. Last I checked the LP-80 has an advantage in price, but you should check with your local distributor for each instrument if you want more details.
