Hello, I am doing research on papaya. There are many things we still don't know about papaya, we are working with some Mexican Hybrids, which are very productive but it is common that in our region (Canary islands, Spain), especially in winter it's hard to reach more than 10 degree Brix. We would like to understand the relation between carbon assimilation and photoshyntesis, and how it affects the ºBrix on papaya. Which model do you recommend us to use for such a tropical plant? Is it possible to relate those things?
I am in Colombia, South America, Do you know some applications on Tropical Weather and different reactions.

Unfortunately, I am not familiar with any literature that correlate Brix to carbon assimilation and photosynthesis. Measuring carbon assimilation in papaya would be particularly difficult because of the height of the canopy so the only choice would probably be a eddy flux system.
